“Let's Sing the Anthem!” is a work that combines the recording of people of various nationalities (Japanese, Korean, British, French, etc.) singing their national anthems with subtitles. Depending on the singers, the national anthems may seem serious or frivolous, respectful or unrestrained, while the subtitles of the translated lyrics present their own stories. The bodies of the singers of the national anthem move back and forth between the body that represents the ideals of the nation and the body of the individual everyday life, expressing the ambiguous existence of the songs in our life with their historical contexts.
